Posted in Uncategorized on February 9, 2012 by Time Under EarthInability to communicate effectively has led to a certain member leaving Time Under Earth. This person was an integral portion to the band in its current form and could not be replaced in terms of musicianship and as a human being. That being the case I took it upon myself to disassemble the current line-up and I am the lone member once again… The break up took place the week of our show with Mortals and thanks to my friend in Ebony Sorrow I was able to continue and play the show as an ambient set. I will continue to meet some live obligations, however not all of them as it would be misleading to promoters for me to perform the music in its current manifestation. More information soon.

Some days are better than others, and tiny flyers.
Posted in Uncategorized on January 5, 2012 by Time Under EarthTime Under Earth will be recording again with Jocko at Moresound Studios in Syracuse, NY on March 2nd and 3rd. Instead of doing it all in one day we will take a little more time as the songs we are recording this time around require the attention to detail. We will record live the same way we did our last demo. The song titles are: The Starry Vault, Wheel Of Light, and Fire Aflame. Im pretty sure our average song time here is about ten minutes, so it should almost be like a full length. However, we are still unsigned and apparently not worthy of the backing of a label- so we are doing this ourselves. Its not like we really pushed our last demo to labels as it was, and well, I believe we only played four shows last year.. We arent exactly beating down doors. Instead our focus has been on maintaining the personal sanity of each person in the band, and writing great quality songs- which if we have accomplished anything in the last year it has been those two things. But we will not disregard the love we have of playing out and as a result have lined up a few shows to make up for any imbalance. So here is a list in order of all the shows we currently have booked and are seriously excited to play each one of them:
Saturday, January 14th @ Tom’s basement, Syracuse, NY- with, Summer Cult, Good Kids, and Cyan.
(This should be great fun as all of these other bands are in some type of indie rock, or even folkish genre. hehe… Im thinking our unique blend of Chuck Schuldiner, Black Metal, and 70′s prog influences should go over well though with the Syracuse hipster crowd.)
Friday, January 20th @ Badlands, Syracuse, NY w/ Mortals (brooklyn), Polarity, and “Masta Mook”.
(was thinking of commenting on the inclusion of the “Masta” himself, but I think I’ll pass… Here is a tiny flyer)

Then we don’t have anything going on for February other than writing new material and being cold.
But as March hits, like I said, we go into the studio and have a few really cool shows to follow.
Saturday, March 17th @ The Bug Jar, Rochester, NY w/ Order Of The Dead, Burn Everything, and Elkhound.
(Really excited to finally play a “true” Rochester show with some awesome bands, on stupid drunk Irish day no less. Here is another tiny flyer.)

Friday, March 30th @ The Keene Knights of Columbus, Keene, NH w/ Tombs, Shot Heard Around The World, Ebony Sorrow, My Fiction, and Slumlord Beauty
(Definitely looking forward to destroying Keene, New Hampshire and playing with Tombs!)

Saturday, March 31st @ The Lost Horizon, Syracuse, NY w/ Ehnahre, Ebony Sorry, and Aiia.
(Should be a fun show. I’m hearing that Ehnahre has former members of Kayo Dot and Maudlin Of The Well.)
That’s all for the moment, but should we strike it rich we will have shirts and hopefully a new cd to pass out at our March shows. Thanks for any support too! Even if its just in downloading our 2011 demo (for free I might add) and listening to us.
This band appreciates every last bit of press we get!
Posted in Uncategorized with tags www.thesirenssound.com on November 25, 2011 by Time Under EarthThanks so much to all of the blogs, websites, etc., that give us the time of day and see something in our music worth other people hearing. The lastest is http://www.thesirenssound.com/ which is a fantastic site featuring obscure ARTISTS from around the world. While the site largely features post-rock, experimental rock, and some ambient and mathy tinged rock of other types, they are open enough to approach music as music outside of preconceived boundaries and give Time Under Earth exposure to an audience (which we feel) that will appreciate our music even though it rests on the more aggressive side of things.
So here is the site again:
http://www.thesirenssound.com/
pay them a visit!
Also, today is our first show in about 6 months and since a lot of weird and earth shattering shit happened in my life which could have lead to the band being derailed. Our set is strong now though, we are fucking tight, and we have a couple of 10 plus minute songs to showcase tonight! Looking forward to it.

Well its not really black metal, but John who is putting on the show summarizes it best when he states:
“After you’ve wasted money on a holiday in the name of a false prophet, come to the Lost Horizon for drinks and killer metal.”
So yeah, Sulaco is actually headlining and Time Under Earth is co-heading up the show, which makes it a total mystery why the band names on the flyer were arranged in this order. But apparently Sulaco has some fetish about not playing last, that they must play second to last, so thats cool.. But we are definitely not opening. Looking forward to hearing the other bands as well, in particular Disfigured Dead who are apparently signed to Hells Headbangers Recordings, which is a label that puts out dirty, shitty, and true as fuck black thrash bands. So if you are in the greater central NY area, then dont be a shit head and miss out on this.
